Founded: Lehmann’s will soon be celebrating its 76th year in Bellingham, having outlasted a number of “chain” stories. Ed Lehmann founded the businesses in 1929, starting by selling wringer washing machines door to door. If money was an issue, Ed would trade for bread, chickens, and other miscellaneous items. His son Don Lehmann took over the business, followed by grandson and current owner Terry Lehmann. The forth generation Heather Hulbert & Shannon Lehmann also plan on continuing in their families foot steps. The link to history is in more than the name. Lehmann’s displays a number of antique appliances dating back to an 1880 wooden windmill powered wringer washing machine.
Philosophy: It is our belief that a good business will strive to earn its customer base. Lehmann's knows that satisfied customers are our best sales people! With a motto of “Selling the best and servicing the rest,” Lehmann’s upholds a tradition of value and service since 1929. Besides Maytag, Lehmann’s also offers the well-known Amana, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, and Hoover brands.
